Job Summary:

The UX/UI Designer II is part of the multi-faceted Creative Services Team, whose primary objective is to create cutting-edge inflight entertainment products, both for passengers and crew. The UX/UI Designer II role is one that fuses a UX mindset with that of a UI/visual design skill set. It requires an efficient understanding of each step involved in a GUI’s creative scope, from the initial creation of a product/feature to the brandability of an existing UI. To achieve this, a UX/UI Designer II must possess a wide range of skill sets and a flexible, adaptable attitude. Under the creative direction of the Manager of Creative Services, the UX/UI Designer II is highly collaborative and works both intra-departmentally (with their fellow designers) and inter-departmentally (alongside product owners, product development teams, program management and airline customers). The hybrid nature of the role also requires other creative services support, such as product marketing documentation, trade show graphic design, presentation material, and other design assignments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Conceptualize and design compelling, easy-to-use interfaces and products that target airline passengers, cabin crew, and maintenance personnel

Collaborate directly with product owners and developers on the successful implementation of a UX/UI design and the product requirements; proactively participate in all Agile/product development activities

·
Demonstrate a solid knowledge across user-centered design, visual design, graphic design, front-end development, brand strategy, interaction design, marketing & advertising strategies

·
Study an airline’s brand, apply a design to a standard product and guide the customer through a product branding & configuration process

·
Participate in and facilitate collaborative design review sessions, communicating all design ideas and concepts effectively to both internal and external stakeholders

·
Cut and package design assets for developer consumption

·
Be the voice of the airline and their passenger during all phases of design

·
Design and produce product marketing documentation and presentations

·
Be up-to-date with the industry, maintaining knowledge of top-emerging technologies and digital design trends, including but not limited to mobile and web

·
Possess openness to creative insight, feedback, criticism, and praise from management, executive stakeholders, customers, and fellow designers

·
Represent the company during offsite meetings and advise management on action items gathered from client meetings

Preferred Qualifications and/or Education:

·
Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, UX/UI Design or equivalent experience in a related field

·
3-7 years of experience working in a similar role

·
Portfolio of outstanding work, with 3-5 years working in the interactive space or related field experience that exemplifies a solid understanding of typography, layout and design solutions

·
Demonstrate proficiency with wire framing and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Invision, or Sketch and other interactive tools

·
Demonstrate efficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and an understanding of the concept of “clean,” layered files
