JOB SUMMARY

As the senior technical resource within the agile team you will be providing approval of Technical Design for tasks of medium to high level of complexity as well as reviewing and approving PR requests. You will be on-hand during the sprint to provide technical guidance and input to the junior developers within the team. Other responsibilities include responsibility for branching as well as preparing release notes. As a DevOps evangelist you will continually be investigating and pushing new CI tools and technologies that can help propel the team onwards.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Working within an Agile scrum team containing both onshore and offshore resources performing Hybris development, COTS configuration, code analysis, debugging and peer reviews. Developing and executing unit/integration tests, all at a high level of complexity
·  Creating and reviewing Detailed Technical Specifications and performing the review of Technical Design for tasks of high level of complexity
·  Providing technical approval of Technical Design for tasks of medium to high level of complexity
·  Providing technical approval of Detailed Technical Specifications
·  Consulting on the estimates, design preparation and operational support escalations for large tasks of high complexity
·  Preparing Production Readiness documentation for implementations of medium to high level of complexity
·  Acting in a development lead capacity for medium to high initiatives, prioritizing and assigning project tasks, providing guidance and resolving issues
·  Leading Solution Development process definitions, and development of Solution Development best practices and standards
·  Actively participating in new technology, vendor package and tool road mapping, evaluation and introduction
·  Actively participating in defining and enforcing the source control and release management processes and standards
·  Ensuring compliance with performance, security, availability, recoverability and supportability standards and policies and provides Monitoring recommendations for tasks of medium to high level of complexity
·  Identifying hardware and software requirements. Maintains and distributes hardware / software inventory levels for all service providers including disposal / decommission process. Monitors and enforces Service Level agreements.
·  Partnering with the Technical Services team to identify trends, research new products, recommend hardware replacements, coordinate testing of new hardware and troubleshoot issues. Follows lab requirement procedures for all Development and Software management.

 

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 

·  Strong Hybris eCommerce platform (v5.7 or later) hands-on development experience
·  Good experience of working within an Agile framework (SAFe would be preferable)
·  Experience of working with CI tooling such as Jenkins, SonarQube etc
·  Working knowledge of the Atlassian suite of products; Jira/Confluence/BitBucket/Hipchat
·  Strong verbal and written communication skills
·  Experience of working with in a collaborative manner with a combination of nearshore and offshore teams (potentially provided by multiple suppliers)
·  Team oriented approach and strong interpersonal skills
·  Strong analytical skills to determine bottlenecks and process improvements.
·  Desire to learn and develop new and existing skills/competencies
·  Ability to communicate and influence at all levels of management.

 

Education

·  Bachelor's Degree in technology, information systems, engineering or communications, or equivalent work experience.

 

Experience

·  Strong experience as Hybris developer (ideally v5.7 or above)
·  Experience of working within an Agile framework (ideally SAFe)
·  Experience and exposure to working collaboratively within an onshore/offshore team environment
·  If no Hybris experience then 2+ years working on an equivalent eCommerce platform such as ATG, WebSphere may be considered
