Job Objective
The IVVQ Engineer at Thales will perform Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification activities on large system integration projects within different application domains (Railways, Metro, Tramways, Tunnels, Urban Security, etc…).
He/she will manage test platform definition and implementation, system testing including writing specifications, conducting testing, reporting and investigating defects.
In particular, he/she will be responsible for all the IVVQ activities ensuring the predefined results on time, within budget and with the expected level of Quality, in close coordination with the System Engineering Manager, the Project Manager and the other team members.

Key Responsibilities
He/She will:
• Define the Solution Integration Verification Validation & Qualification activities and prepare the relevant IVVQ Plan.
• Perform the Solution Integration Verification Validation & Qualification activities within the defined time, budget and quality constraints.
• Define and deploy methodologies (including metrics), tools/platforms necessary to IVVQ and acceptance activities.
• Propose IVVQ scenarios and ensure their implementation.
• Coordinate IVVQ activities according to the established priorities, conduct integration tests in factory, analyze test results and pass them on to development teams.
• Analyze interfaces between subsystems, ensuring the right definition and implementation.
• Ensure the design and implementation of test platform.
• Ensure all testing activities for the project, including: preparing test plan strategy documents, recording test results, producing test reports and investigating about the identified defects.
• Work in close cooperation with all internal and external stakeholders to gain approval of test specifications and to host acceptance testing activities.
• Define, develop, implement and maintain tools relevant to the systems integration platform.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications
• Min. 3 years' experience in performing Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification activities on large system integration projects within different application domains (Railways, Metro, Tramways, Tunnels, Urban Security, etc…).
• Masters' Degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Electronics, IT).
• Sound knowledge of System Engineering discipline and processes and CMMI principles.
• Fluency in Italian and English. Knowledge of French a plus.
• Good knowledge of Telecommunication Systems (Gigabit Ethernet Networks, CCTV, PAS, PIS, Radio, Wi-Fi, PABX, On Board Systems, SCADA Systems, etc…), and relevant communication protocols.
• Good knowledge of Signalling Systems (Interlocking Systems, Traffic Supervision Systems, Train Detection Systems e.g. Track Circuits, Axel Counters, etc…), and relevant communication protocols.
• Good knowledge of main software tools needed for the configuration and test of the above mentioned technologies, of main Bug Tracking tools (Redmine, Mantis, JIRA, etc…) and of the main Requirements and Configuration Management tools (IBM Rational Doors, IBM Clear Case, etc…).
• Team-working ability, as well as experience in working with a team of systems engineers and SW/HW Engineers.
• Strong attitude to problem solving and troubleshooting.
• Competencies in System/Software architecture, networking solutions, IT infrastructures and virtualization platforms.
