Responsibilities

At Societe Generale, you will be joining the Global Finance entity of SG Corporate and Investment Banking. We provide our issuer clients (corporates, financial institutions, public sector) with capital raising solutions, along with structured financing, forex and interest rate hedging. Developing tailor-made products and providing strategic advice (capital structure advisory, financing schemes and capital markets) based on our worldwide expertise and in-depth sectorial knowledge, we aim to meet their financing needs. We are top player across euro debt capital markets and won many international accolades over the years as a worldwide leader in export, project and natural resources & energy finance.

The VIE will participate to the following activities within the RBF AME Team:

Main Credit-oriented tasks:

- Actively participating in the writing of credit applications

- Financial analysis and credit risk assessment

- Financial modeling (Excel), Cash Flow projections

- Calculating obligor ratings using internal SG methodology and systems

- Profitability and RARORC calculations using internal SG methodology and systems

- Collaboration with Senior Bankers and in-house Senior Petroleum Engineers

- Obtaining Management and Credit Group approvals

- Managing and obtaining KYC and Compliance approvals for new and existing clients

Main Transversal tasks:

- Portfolio level data gathering, analysis and presentation (exceptional excel/database skills required, including ability to write macros)

- Market research and marketing: reports, internet research, rating research

- Statistical database updates, internal reporting

- Preparation of pitchbooks and presentations, both for external and internal marketing (good PowerPoint skills required)

Profile Required

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

The VIE(s) in Houston are to begin as soon as possible, but you will need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France's eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states oft eh European Economic Space. For further information, please see www.civiweb.com.

Your profile

·  Graduate with a master's degree in Finance
·  Advanced excel and/or database skills required for data intensive portfolio projects, the ability to write and implement macros.
·  Knowledge of energy transactions
·  Fluency in English

RBF provides a wide range of financing opportunities for E&P companies with focus on 1st lien Revolving Credit Facilities, as well as a wide range of Capital Markets products in close collaboration with other business lines of the bank (Financial Sponsors Coverage, Debt and Equity Capital Markets, Interest Rate Hedging, Foreign Exchange, Cash Management, etc.) As a primary client responsibility unit, RBF AME is responsible for originating cross-sellling opportunities for its client portfolio and, therefore, works closely with other business lines of the bank (ie, Synidcations, DC and ECM, Financial Sponsors Coverage, MARK).
