DevOps Engineer

Within the Agile Software Centre in Sky Italia, the first Italian media company and the European leader in entertainment, is seeking for a DevOps Engineer.

Everything our users see online is made possible by our Dev/Ops team. As a Dev/Ops Engineer you will be part of our development teams which are introducing the last generation of technologies such that Sky contents are the best on the web, providing to our customers the best in class services.

You will be part of an Agile team, infrastructural or product focused, with the goal of having the Sky services working at their best, by focusing on the process automation, monitoring and optimization of the infrastructure and services together with the software development engineers.

That's why we have created a collaborative environment, with an Agile approach where the various teams work on the innovation, evolution and maintenance of our products in a dynamic environment that enables the the work

Key Responsibilities:

·  Enhancing and supporting a build framework for deploying applications.
·  Supporting and working alongside Agile development teams to ensure they have all the facilities to get the job done.
·  Driving best technology and software development practices into the team with passion and enthusiasm.
·  Establishing and running the processes for on-going maintenance monitoring support and security patching of a platform.
·  Ensuring continuous improvement within the team.
·  Providing on-going support on a third line basis – this may involve out of hours call out.

Requirements:

·  Experience developing highly available and scalable distributed web services
·  Experience maintaining and operationg distributed web serivces both on-premise and on the Cloud (IaaS, PaaS, OpenStack)
·  Unix/Linux operative system administration and performance tuning
·  Experience with code versioning systems such as Git and CI/CD frameworks
·  Experience developing with scripting and OO languages (Java, Python, Javascript, …)
·  Experience managing relational and NoSQL databases
·  Computer science or technically related degree
·  Professional knowledge of english language, written and spoken

·  Able to work in a fast paced Agile environment
