The Energy Automation Center (EAC) is the engineering unit of Schneider Electric that specializes in developing solutions for control and protection for electrical substations, distribution networks, micro grids, smart grids and renewable generation.

The EAC is requiring an Automation and Control Engineer with at least 5 years experience in planning, development, testing and commissioning power automation systems.

· Integration of intelligent electronic devices in complex automation architectures.

· Preparation of functional specification documents, manuals and application notes.
· Preparation of Test procedures for Internal Validation Tests , integrated Factory Acceptance Tests, Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests (Commissioning)
· Design of protection and control panels and development of schematics in ACAD or similar.
· Configuration of SCADA systems, controllers, protection relays and communications equipment.

· Programming automation applications in programming languages such as ​​C, C++, C#, VB, IEC61131.
· Design, configuration, implementation and troubleshooting of IT networks including switches, routers, firewalls and cybersecurity features.
· Design, configuration, implementation and troubleshooting of networks with the following protocols: Modbus, DNP 3.0, IEC61850,
· Preparation and implementation of plans for integration testing, factory acceptance and commissioning.
· Site Acceptance testing and Commissioning.

· Planning and implementation of training courses and presentations for internal and external customers.
· Trouble shooting of the communication (Capturing and analysis of communication frames)
· Trace file collection, analysis and reporting
· Reporting.

The professional we are looking for has extensive experience in both power systems and control, including Low Voltage, Medium Voltage and High Voltage substation automation, Generation control, Motor control and distribution automation. He/She needs to have hands on experience in SCADA systems, PLC languages, substation communications, IT, Cybersecurity and protection systems. Panel design is an asset.

Qualifications :

This job might be for you if:

·  Professional Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Computer Science from a recognized university.
·  Minimum five years of experience in the field.
·  Expertise in implementing projects for O&G, Utilities or electro intensive industry in the USA or Canada.
·  Ability to work in a highly demanding environment and under pressure.
·  Proven experience with at least three of the following communication protocols: IEC61850, DNP 3.0, Modbus.
·  Experience with protection & control equipment and solutions preferably Schneider, Alstom, SEL, GE, ABB and Siemens.
·  Proven Experience with at least two SCADA systems such as: PACiS - EcoSUI, EcoStruxure Substation Operations, Wonderware, ClearSCADA, Citect, iFix, FactoryTalk View, WinCC.
·  Excellent English language skills both written and spoken. Spanish would be an asset.
·  Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time inside and outside the country.
·  Ability to supervise and coach less experienced engineers and technicians
