Position: Accounts Assistant (8-month fixed term contract)

Location: Brecon House, Maidstone, Kent

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 09:00am – 17:30pm (37.5 hours per week)      

Reporting to: Finance Director

Role Insight

This is an exciting opportunity to join a knowledgeable and driven accounts department where you will play an integral part in the day to day operations within the team. Your primary focus will be duties and responsibilities surrounding purchase ledger; however, this will be an extremely varied position where you will assist with other areas of accounting such as management accounts, data cleansing and petty cash. You will be supporting the department during an important stage in the growth of the business so you will be somebody that is a dedicated and pro-active team player. You will also possess a high level of attention to detail with the ability to pick up new systems and processes quickly.

 

Duties will include, but not limited to:

·  To verify and upload invoices into the accounting system
·  Maintain purchase ledger by verifying and posting account transactions
·  Process daily individual payments to customers
·  Purchase invoice processing
·  Assisting with management accounts
·  Data cleansing, ensuring data is accurate and in the right format
·  Supplier Statement reconciliation
·  To assist when needed for customer payment checking & customer refunds
·  Petty cash
·  Assisting the Accounts Supervisor with any other ad hoc duties

 

About you…

·  Experienced Accounts Assistant with knowledge across various disciplines
·  Understand the principles of customer service
·  Able to communicate effectively over the phone and via email  

·  Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
·  Strong ability to work well as part of a team
·  Able to multi-task and enjoy working within a busy environment
·  Able to follow processes and procedures
·  Experience using SAGE would be ideal, however not essential
·  Competent using Microsoft Excel
