You will conduct experiments to understand the overall feasibility of and key necessary transformations involved in converting a current batch-processed emulsion to a continuous process emulsion.
· Review the literature related to continuous emulsification.
· Propose experiments to establish viability of continuous emulsification for a well-understood batch emulsion.
· Execute experiments using proposed emulsification paths.
· Determine success of each path by creation of emulsions and measuring their associated particle size distributions and stability profiles.
At the end of your internship, you are expected to summarize your data in a technical report and give a final presentation of your work.
Requirements (skills / experiences) for the role:
· PhD student
· Experience in emulsification or fluid mixing
· Experience with conducting independent and collaborative research projects.
· Comfortable with processing large data sets.
· Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
