A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the L&D Department at Castle Donington as a Training Team Manager, to lead and develop the approach to operations training, methods, materials as well as manage our wealth of training resources, including Trainers and Operational Coaches.

Our state of the art flagship Distribution Centre in Castle Donington is pivotal in our quest to increase our online business. As such, we are looking for a talented and inspirational Training Team Manager to help ensure our new hire and cross training plans are delivered in line with requirements to support the operation in delivering to our customers on time, every time!

We are a 24/7 365 day of the year operation and you will be required to work shifts on a rota basis.

Your role will include:

Team Management

• Manage and maintain skills within the training delivery team to ensure capability and capacity is maintained to meet forecasted training volumes.

Process Training

• Develop new hire training and cross training schedules based on operations requirements, agency requests and hiring plan.

• Provide shift based L&D support to key stakeholders including operations teams.

• Ensure process training is delivered consistently to agreed standards, including standard delivery, ratios, assessment and sign off.

Projects & Change

• Contribute to L&D site projects including the development of training processes, training methodology and materials.

Health and Safety

• Role modelling safe behaviours and supporting Colleagues / Trainers to act and behave safely.

To be successful in this role you will have an understanding of L&D processes, ideally with training delivery experience. We'd like you to have a background in Operations, Distribution or similar where the focus has been on KPI's and MI including quality and productivity. You must be confident, after all this is a training role and you will be required to communicate effectively. You'll be proficient in Microsoft office applications too!

Along with your training skills, we need an inspirational leader. You'll be responsible for a team so must have a proven track record in management. Stakeholder engagement is a must, you'll need to have the ability to influence and challenge decisions with stakeholders across the business along with our on-site agency partner. Finally, you will be an organised self-starter with resilience and ability to deal with ambiguity and change, and have managed a team across different shift patterns.
