Your Role

You will be joining an award winning organisation with a focus on excellence, colleague engagement and development. As a valued member of the management team, you will ensure that products are processed and handled correctly throughout the operation. Your main focus will be to achieve customer requirements efficiently, accurately and safely; providing first level management support to the operational colleagues by maintaining a consistent active presence within the operation.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure work is processed through the department in priority and date order
  • Deliver shift briefs, organise team and prepare shift handover including allocation of resource for shift activity as appropriate
  • Ensure adherence to process, procedures and health and safety guidelines
  • Complete annual performance reviews with the team
  • Ensure departmental instructions are kept relevant and current.
  • Capture, compile and update information on KPI boards, spreadsheets and reports as required
  • Respond to internal and external customer queries and requests in a professional and timely manner
  • Operate Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Customers SAP system and associated engineering platforms
  • Perform Departmental Procedure Reviews
  • Co-ordinate Source Inspection activities with the customer
  • Ensure customer provided tooling provided for Inspection is kept in calibration
  • Be an active participant in Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects
  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices

Your Skills and Experiences

  • A good level of numeracy and literacy
  • Some experience of managing a small team
  • Working knowledge of KPIs
  • A good level of PC literacy, particularly MS Excel – gathering data to produce performance metrics
  • Some level of project implementation, or being part of a project team is desirable
  • Lean / Six Sigma belted desirable, otherwise a sound understanding of Lean Techniques, 7 Wastes and 5S principles, preferably with proven experience in this area
  • Some technical knowledge of helicopter parts and appliances would be beneficial to the role, but not essential
  • Must have an Aerospace engineering qualification, NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or have industry experience and
  • performed a technical inspection role for a minimum of 6 months.
