At a glance

· 
This is a hybrid working role, therefore your time will primarily be split between working from home and the London Victoria office. The team aims for 2 days a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings.

· 
We are looking for candidates who’s salary expectations are between £57,000-£65,000

· 
This position is a fixed term / secondment opportunity for 12 months

About the role

As a Fabric Technologist, in the Sourcing and Technical Profession, you will expertly manage the life cycle of own brand fabrics. This position will be responsible for Womenswear Own Brand with some wider fashion areas consultation.

In this role you will be responsible for managing the quality, safety, sustainability & provenance of the fabrics, ensuring they are compliant with technical & sustainability standards.

You will lead & manage the garment & fabric supplier relationships and deliver fabrics that meet the standards set for fabric quality & technical and sustainability.

Key accountabilities

- Responsible for risk assessing fabric suitability for performance, sustainability, provenance and end to end use.

- Setting, maintaining and executing fabric technical standards

- To deliver compliant, safe, legal and right quality product assortment for Own Brand.

- To deliver the technical strategy, follow the processes, policies and standards, and hit targets set for the fabric elements of Own Brand at the Business Organisation level.

- To carry out accurate and timely execution of fabric processes defined at the Business Organisation level.

- To make timely decisions that impact the fabric aspects of the critical

Key activities (For Own Brand Fashion)

· 
Act as fabric consultant to the wider technical team and buying to deliver quality, sourcing & policy requirements across own brand products.

· 
Have a detailed understanding of fabrics, the fabric supply chain, and fabric industry to drive improvements.

· 
Manage all Fabric Testing & Compliance from fabric base selection to bulk fabric production and maintains up to date and accurate product/technical files.

· 
Set & maintain the fashion fabric performance standards, and verify and validate fabric, finish and customer facing sustainability claims. Manages, sets and maintains the care label & ticketing content guidelines.

· 
Acts as a consultant around fabric/fibre sustainability.

· 
Act as a consultant in developing the mill & dye house assessment programme alongside a designated 3rd party, as well as in developing the testing portals with 3rd parties & managing implementation (e.g. TRG).

Essential skills you’ll need

· 
Already established and experienced in a technical role in retail or manufacturing - Fabric/Textiles - typically covering:

· 
Product development

· 
Fabric testing & compliance

· 
Fabric supplier, lab & garment supplier engagement

· 
Sustainability & Raw material compliance to business CSR targets
