Your Responsibilities

This position is currently eligible for a telework arrangement with managerial approval arrangement at the present time.  The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change .

As an Investigator, Corporate for John Deere in Moline, IL, you will conduct investigations; collect, analyze, document, and disseminate information; present court testimony; provide training and perform security audits of facilities on behalf of John Deere's Enterprise Security and Preparedness (ES&P) Division. The conduct of investigations will include, but not necessarily limited to, business conduct guideline violations, workplace violence, fraud, theft, due diligence, drug and alcohol abuse in the workplace, background inquiries, and special requests set forth by the executive staff. In addition, you will:

·  Be responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely written investigative reports
·  Collect, preserve, and document all evidence related to investigations.
·  Serve as the primary or alternate evidence custodian for ES&P.
·  Conduct analysis and make recommendations concerning the security equipment, concepts and techniques related to the investigative function.
·  Organize and presents investigative findings to management and makes recommendations on strategies and corrective action.
·  Develop and provide training and presentations related to investigative processes, procedures and results as well as other security related matters.
·  Maintain close liaison with private sector security partners, local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, and judicial bodies.
·  Work with internal and external legal counsel to aid field investigative activities, and also assist direct auditing, marketing, credit management, security, safety and other business groups as required.
·  Provide testimony in civil and criminal court proceedings and participates in the taking of sworn depositions, case preparation, witness briefing, court exhibit identification and organization, and other court matters.
·  Direct operational activities in the absence of the Regional Security Manager and/or the Global Security Manager.

What Skills You Need

·  Law enforcement or private security experience with emphasis on conducting and/or managing investigations
·  Experience with the criminal justice system, processes, and procedures
·  Effective writing skills, including grammatical usage and persuasive copy and style
·  Strong computer skills
·  Analytical skills
·  Experience maintaining confidential data
·  Work experience in a team environment  
·  Ability to handle multiple investigations and projects simultaneously
·  Ability and willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 70%
·  Ability to work off-shift hours as needed to support the business (this may also include weekends)

 

What Makes You Stand Out

·  Knowledge of retail and loss prevention strategies
·  Basic accounting and/or auditing experience
·  Knowledge of security systems and related technical information

 

Education (or equivalent work experience)

·  Bachelor's degree in a Criminal Justice/Law/Security discipline, in a Business/Management discipline or in Government/Public Administration
