Your Responsibilities :
Scope of the internship: Support the set-up and conduct of GSK Vaccines Institute for Global Health (GVGH) clinical research projects.
Project description: GVGH developed a new conjugate vaccine aimed at preventing diarrheal diseases in infants and older age groups and is responsible to conduct Proof of Concept (PoC) clinical trials.
The intern selected for this project, will support clinical research activities, as required for the set-up of a early phase clinical study aimed to characterize the safety and immunogenicity profile of the new vaccine. The final goal of the early phase study is to obtain human clinical data to characterize the profile of the vaccine and to support the progression of clinical development.
Why is this research important for GVGH/GSK: This project will hugely support the development of a new vaccine against diarrheal diseases, which is aligned with GSK/GVGH overall Global Health objectives. The execution of this clinical study will provide safety and immunogenicity data that will be the basis for further development of a vaccine for endemic regions of the world.
Competencies the intern will develop thanks to the internship experience: Learn the basics of clinical research and vaccines development, how to work in adherence to ICH guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and applicable regulations. Support development of documentation required for clinical activities as for applicable procedures and guidelines. Support maintenance of clinical trial documentation via the implementation of eTMF at GVGH.
Group members: As the intern will be hosted in GVGH clinical development and regulatory affairs department, there will be joint supervision and tutoring of the fellow by GVGH clinical and regulatory associates. The intern will have several cross-functional activities and interactions with GVGH colleagues from different functional groups. Interaction with GSK (data management group, public disclosure, medical governance, Quality) is also planned for.

Requirements for the intern: Degree in a scientific, health care or other related discipline. English proficiency, fluent Italian preferred. Computer literacy. Problem solving, strategic thinking, proactive nature. A master's degree (either ongoing or completed) in clinical research would be preferred.
