Rotors Mechanical Senior Engineer will be working on mechanical design projects across the LM6000 engine line with focus on leading following efforts: Repair development engineering substantiations, cost reduction campaign, fleet support and Overhaul support and root cause investigations. The Senior engineer will be responsible for training, mentoring and consulting LPC/HPC and HPT/LPT rotor engineers on all the above aspects and ensuring correctness of technical documentation.
The Senior engineer will have an opportunity to work on new applications of LM6000 packages providing answers to customer inquiries. The Senior engineer will be exposed to all design processes leading to depot hardware delivery as well as will have autonomy role to collaborate with Rotating Parts Commodity, Supply Chain and Engine Systems organizations.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- The Senior Engineer / Technologist provides consultation and technical direction to the engineering community on near term and longer-range projects with substantial business impact.
- Remain current in the state of the art within own technical specialty for new products introduction activity, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions
- Support GE AEO businesses internal and external customers
- Serve as a recognized leader in defining the state of the art in own technical specialty to anticipate, develop and apply technology and processes to current and future business opportunities.
- Provide engineering support, within one’s specialty, to teams working on performance, cost reduction and quality initiatives.
- Leverage expertise to resolve problems in the field or during the repair processes.
- Make recommendations after analysis of the data using quality tools.
- Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
- Function as program manager when appropriate.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers
Required Qualifications
- BSc/MSc in Engineering
- Significant experience in Rotating Parts design
- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lead project with significant complexity
