Role Summary/Purpose
The intern will support all the technical activities inside the Massa LM Service Shop Center, for the engines. Massa Service Center is a provider of LM2500 (Aeroderivative gas turbines) overhaul services. The intern – LM Service Shop will report to the Technical Manager (Gate 0 Leader).
Essential Responsibilities
Before engine induction:
· Support in creating engine specific workscopes
· Support in creating all the shop routers to be ready for engine induction
During engine disassembly (Gate 1):
· Support incoming inspection at engine induction
· Support in reviewing of engine disassembly, answering to Shop operators/Foremans technical questions
· Inspect and define the status of each part: Clean & inspect/ Ship to repair/ Scrap
· Based on parts status, work with the company tutor in defining extra-works that are needed from a technical standpoint
· Support in creating the “Visual Inspection Report” to be discussed with CPMs and Customers in order to show the status of the engine after disassembly and agree on the final workscope
· Deal with Customer technical visits to Massa Service Shop
During engine re-assembly (Gate 3) and engine testing (Gate 4):
· Support Gate 3 team on any technical issue that might rise during engine re-assembly
· Support to engine testing troubleshooting of issues linked with Service Shop activities
· Support to field troubleshooting of issues linked with Service Shop activities
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent knowledge or work experience
· A basic knowledge of Mechanics is required
· Ability to read mechanical drawings
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
· English and Italian fluency
· Be a Solution-oriented problem solver
· EU Work Permit
Desired Characteristics
· Passion for Turbomachinery Mechanics and Aero-derivative gas turbine products, would be a plus
· Previous experience dealing with Customers would be a plus
· Ability to synthesize complex technical information
· Ability to interact with all levels of the organization: from shop operators to Executives
· Strong attention to details
