Role Summary/Purpose

Drive quality for assigned suppliers, including quality plan implementation. Select suppliers through qualification processes. Own supplier results, drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards. Own supplier audits, ensuring compliance, and driving improvement plans where needed. Comprehensive in-depth understanding of purchasing and sourcing concepts and principles in the own part of the function. Strong knowledge of purchasing concepts in order to help drive supplier performance.
Essential Responsibilities

• New product qualification

- Review supplier’s manufacturing processes, inspection methods and quality control system, work closely with US team and GE on-site project team, ensure the supplier strictly follows and meets GE PO, drawing and specifications.
- Review and approve the first article package from quality function.
- Take the lead of quality investigation and improvement.

• Daily quality assurance of mass production

- Frequent workstation/manufacturing process audits, walk the shop floor to check the product manufacturing.
- Take the lead to review nonconformance, ensure the implementation of corrective actions
- Push and help the supplier improve quality performance, use quality control tools to reduce nonconformance, prevent quality escape.
- Leverage Supplier Quality Rating points

• Proactively train the supplier, make sure they understand GE requirements
• Conduct quality system audit annual for prime supplier and sub tier suppliers.
• Push and drive supplier to meet GE quality requirements.
• Provide quality data and quality report to the quality leader monthly.
Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications Required:

• Background
- Strong forging background, or special processes background with machining knowledge
- Solid quality management background, familiar with quality control tools and shop floor quality issues
- Shop floor experience is a must
- Aviation industry experience is preferred
• Detail driven working style and clear thinker
• Good communication skill, be able to independently work with global and cross functional teams.
• Good English written and spoken capability is required. Fluent Chinese is required.
Desired Characteristics

• Aviation industry experience is preferred
• Min. 3 years experience in supplier quality or engineering role, preferably in mechanical commodities with understanding in engineering prints/specification/manufacturing process/special process.
• Ability to adapt, open to change and thrive on finding better, more effective solutions & process
• Basic knowledge of six sigma and GE culture.
• Hard working and accountable.
