Role Summary/Purpose

The Engineering Technician works under the direction of an engineer to modify electronics in a customer facing role. The position includes hands on electronics work including complex wiring and upgrades to systems. The tech will also test, troubleshoot, repairs, and modify electronic products using standard tooling and test equipment. The technician will support a customer on site and interact with remote teams.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Provide technical assistance to engineers and others in troubleshooting, answering questions and seeking engineering assistance when needed

·  Troubleshoot electronic products to component & sub-assembly levels utilizing schematics & standard troubleshooting practices & and procedures

·  Repair and/or modify products utilizing schematics and specialized work instructions

·  Ability to interpret drawings and specifications

·  Ability to perform complex wiring modifications including: routing, soldiering, and terminations

·  Set up test equipment and test electronic products using established test procedures and schematics

·  Use product test and measurement equipment
·  Digital / Analog Voltmeters
·  oscilloscopes
·  power supplies
·  and Automatic and Standard Test equipment, etc.

·  Provide technical assistance by telephone or in person to customers, field service personnel, or suppliers as needed

·  Ability to lend technical support on-call as needed

·  Ability to work in a self-directed customer facing environment

·  Recommend and/or propose process improvements

·  Ensure that all relevant quality information / feedback is provided

·  Utilize written or visual instructions involving use of quantitative information from specifications, schematics, graphs, pictures, etc.

·  Provide written and/or oral communications concerning a variety of situations following test, troubleshooting, inspections, etc.

·  Keep workstation, tools and equipment in a neat and orderly manner

·  Understand and comply with all Company, safety rules and regulations
Qualifications/Requirements

·  4 year degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) or related field from an accredited university or college with 3 years of related technical experience

·  OR

·  2-year degree in Electronics or related field from an accredited university or college with 5 years of manufacturing or aviation experience {OR Certified Electronics Program (18 mos.) with 5 years of manufacturing or aviation experience}

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

·  Skills required in maintaining close specifications using tools, schematics and a variety of electronic equipment

·  Should possess dexterity skills, good hand & eye coordination

·  Ability and willingness to work in our Mukilteo, WA facility (full-time)

·  Ability and willingness to work on-call technical support as needed

Desired Characteristics

·  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology related field from an accredited university or college

·  A&P License

·  Experience working within a machine shop or with machines that create mechanical models

·  Experience working with and troubleshooting aircraft systems

·  Past experience in a self-directed teaming environment

·  Advanced proficiency to logically troubleshoot at subsystem and system level, using identifiable problem solving techniques and previous experience

·  Advanced proficiency to understand and interpret complex technical information

·  Basic computer skills

·  Knowledge of manufacturing and/or aviation processes

·  Demonstrated ability to work well with limited direction and information

·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·  Ability to communicate using local language
