Role Summary/Purpose

The Engineer provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. The candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design and product acceptance of the Voltage Regulator product.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Engineer - Mechanical Component, you will:

·  Responsible for the design and manufacturing support of Voltage Regulators  
·  Lead the continuous improvement of the product offering by defining and developing product features to meet customer expectations

·  Developing an understanding of the customer needs and requirements to effectively sell our features and convince customers of the acceptability / superiority of the GE product offering
·  Be a valuable team member on multi-functional team projects to solve complex problems
·  Develop technical expertise on the functional, electrical and mechanical properties of the product
·  Evaluate field failures / issues to resolve customer/product service issues in a timely manner
·  Review design documents for accuracy to engineering standards requirements and customer specifications
·  Complete the Quoting and Processing of new bids or orders
·  Support Production / Operations to resolve engineering design issues
·  Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements
·  Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
·  Document and communicate results of technical data generated
·  Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
·  Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
·  Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business
·  Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university

·  Strong problem solving skills
·  Regulator and Network power distribution experience
·  Experience working with ANSI, IEEE, CAS and international standards
·  Product design and 3D CAD experience
·  Six Sigma certification and Lean Manufacturing experience
·  Corporate Training Program Graduate (GE only)
