Role Summary/Purpose

Lay out, install, modify and maintain complicated electrical generating transmission and control equipment such as substation installations, switch gear, etc.
Essential Responsibilities

• Able to work from wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.
• Must be able to diagnose and repair electrical issues as well as plan and perform maintenance work.
• Expert troubleshooting and wiring on complicated machines and equipment, including electrical test apparatus.
• May involve high tension work.
• A self-starter who can work under minimum supervision.
• Performs other incidental duties as required by supervision
Qualifications/Requirements

• Electrical Journeyman (completed electrician apprentice program) or a minimum 2-yr degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or other electrical discipline.
• Minimum 3yrs experience in an industrial/commercial setting
• Experience working in an industrial/commercial setting.
• Experience with conduit layout and installation
• Knowledge of operation and repair of variable frequency drives
• Knowledge of NEC and NFPA70E
This position requires lifting, climbing, bending, reaching, ….. for extended periods of time. This position entails working from heights and entering confined areas. At times this position requires overtime and working in adverse weather conditions.
Desired Characteristics

• Experience in motor control circuitry.
• Experience in access control.
• Experience programming and trouble-shooting PLC’s
• Fire alarm license (or willing to obtain)
