Role Summary/Purpose

The position is responsible for supporting Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) activities, under the direction and supervision of the site EHS Leader. The primary focus is to assist with EHS inspections, data collection and EHS record maintenance, serve on EHS Teams, and participate in other EHS program activities to ensure employee safety and regulatory compliance.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Maintain all required records and documentation.
·  Own or actively participate in one or more Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Framework element.
·  Supply, operate and maintain personal protective equipment and ensure availability of safety supplies and PPE equipment.
·  Verify that safety equipment such as Dosimetry and PPE are available to employees, and monitor their use of such equipment to ensure proper fit and use.
·  Prepare and calibrate equipment used to collect and analyze samples.
·  Post and maintain all required notices on EHS bulletin boards.
·  Test workplace for environmental hazards such as exposure to radiation, chemical and biological hazards, and excessive noise. Wondering whether it would be the coordinator or specialist that performs this task.
·  Prepare and review specifications and orders for the purchase of safety equipment, ensuring that proper features are present and that items conform to health and safety standards.
·  Report the results of environmental contaminant analyses, and recommend corrective measures to be applied. Is coordinator really recommending corrective measures.
·  Conduct worker studies in order to prevent instances of disease or illness in job related functions. EHS Element 6 Accident Investigation has a formal process for reporting, investigating and follow up any injury/illness in conjunction with the EHS department.
·  Examine credentials, licenses, or permits to ensure compliance with site licensing requirements.  Quality Specific Goals:

·  Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
·  Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines.
·  Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.
·  Comply with EHS regulations and Policies.
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
·  Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
·  English 70%.

·  Previous EHS Training.
·  EHS Certificates.
