Role Summary/Purpose
Lead a Value Engineering team in assessing and prioritizing cost-out opportunities. Build relationships and influence with assigned product teams. Track and monitor team progress as required to meet business cost out goals. Suggest and review trade studies of various design and manufacturing alternatives. Drive product cost discipline by instilling a culture of Design to Cost (DTC) for new product development. Work to ensure cost targets are met or exceeded.
Essential Responsibilities
In the role of Cost Out and Value Engineering (COVE) Leader, you will:
· Provide team leadership and timely project execution
· Provide timely communications to leadership on significant issues or developments
· Prepare material for leadership reviews as required
· Write assigned processes and procedures as required to drive cost discipline in the business
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
· Minimum 5 years of hardware design experience in the Oil & Gas industry
Desired Characteristics
· MBA from an accredited college or university
· Minimum 2 years design and/or operations experience with well completion and production equipment (flow control valves, procedures, standards)
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Cost out or lean experience from previous roles
· Knowledge of aPriori or similar part should cost software
· Knowledge of manufacturing processes
