For our EMEIA Tax Centre (ETC), an international tax group working on EY’s largest multi-country clients with major hubs in amongst others Amsterdam, the Netherlands, we are looking for an experienced VAT controller in our Global Compliance & Reporting Team (GCR). 

You will be working in our EMEIA Tax Centre on a selection of clients where you are responsible for the VAT/GST compliance which is outsourced to EY, including: 

·  Acting as a central point of contact – you liaise with your international clients and colleagues with respect to European/Global VAT and VAT compliance; 
·  Monitoring the quality of the indirect tax data and reports of your clients including reviewing and approving indirect tax returns, identify issues and opportunities to continuously improve the VAT compliance processes;
·  Coordinate VAT compliance, advisory, technology and audit support; 
·  Coordinate with other VAT controllers and report to the client’s process owners at EY; 
·  Coach and supervise junior team members;

What you can contribute – skills for shaping the future 

·  Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in VAT/GST compliance, either within the industry or in consulting; 
·  At least a bachelor’s degree in economics or tax law; 
·  Basic understanding of other compliance activities such as statutory reporting and corporate tax compliance; 
·  Understanding and experience working with various VAT/GST reporting solutions;
