POSITION DESCRIPTION:

ELECTRONIC LABORATORY ENGINEER

We are looking for a candidate for our Europe  team of Global Laboratories Organization, located in the Forlì Electrolux Plant.
The team will be able to cover local as well as global requirements and has to progressively build the competence to directly support components development, validation and implementation for all regions.

The Lab. Engineer has the responsibility to evaluate, test and validate technology and projects solutions for new products/modules/systems and current product improvements by evaluation, analysis, development and validation of Electronic appliances   for Food Preparation.

The candidate will report to the local  team Manager and will work fully aligned with team performance objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Support the GR&D organization for execution of its development activities.

The Lab. Engineer will be responsible for the following areas:
• evaluate, test and validate functionality, performance and reliability of products , modules, components and subsystems, taking care of quality and safety requirements to meet the specified function/features, quality and cost targets; 
• application of formal evaluation methodologies and specifications for test and validation of electronic appliances, components and subsystems to meet the specified function/features, with special focus to quality improvements and cost targets
• evaluation of components optimization for quality and safety improvement
• participate to the execution of R&D development project and activities to deliver R&D Laboratories Roadmap and according to modularization guidelines of gas subsystems

Support all Electrolux Functions for quality improvement and cost reduction activities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED 
• is trusted as technically competent, reliable in delivery and perform assignments
• technical performance: has knowledge of electronics and electromechanical aspects  and a good knowledge of product and process technologies
• demonstrates good interpersonal and written communication skills
• is able to regularly clearly present technical information to colleagues and reports to team manager
• has a professional engineering approach in all activities
• is able to evaluate and compare feasibility of several alternative solutions
• supports projects deliverables
• has a basic understanding of product cost structure and the financial impact of engineering on the business
• demonstrated ability in finalizing assignments

Education:
• This position will be suitable for a candidate having preferably Electronic engineering university background and that likes to develop his/her technical skills and competence in a global environment.

Preferred carrier experience: 
• At least 2 years of experience in Research and Development (Laboratory preferred) in  home appliances or similar business areas related home appliances.

Language requirements:
• Good English skills in both spoken and written

Other Requirements:
• Availability to travel domestic and international for business trips

Within two-three years the successful candidate shall be able to gain and demonstrate global development capabilities and relationships for the excellence in the R&D function.
