Poste et missions:
The Data Scientist will be a supporting member of the Inventory Management team and energized by tackling big challenges in a complex business environment.
You will not only dive deep to find the answers, but craft meaningful and articulate recommendations that can be discussed and acted upon with your peers.
This person will contribute to the inventory strategy by designing and developing models that can be used to support Spare Parts EMEA Warehouses demand through:
- Development of predictive analytics and statistical forecasting models utilizing forecasting related systems to improve forecast accuracy and bias reduction
- Formalizing assumptions about how demand forecasts are expected to behave, creating definitions of outliers, developing methods to systematically identify these outliers, and explaining why they are reasonable or identifying fixes for them
- Development of tools to allow process automation, analysis & corrective action implementation by the business.
- Forecast Accuracy analysis and corrective action implementation
- Support improvements upon existing Demand Forecasting statistical or machine learning methodologies by developing new data sources, testing model enhancements, running computational experiments, and fine-tuning model parameters for new forecasting models
- Incorporate demand signal data into forecasting models to drive cost savings and data driven actions
- Extend the use of statistical techniques to areas beyond supply chain demand planning and demand signal analytics
- Assist analysts in addressing statistical modeling issues identified in periodic statistical forecast review sessions with other departments.
- Collaborate with other departments align business requirements and process solutions that ensure overall CNHi objectives are met.
- Design and build advanced reporting to support business needs with stakeholders to ensure insights are leading to action and measuring the business impact
- Identify appropriate data driven predictive analytics from use case concept through experiment design to industrialization/deployment to end users.
- Develop and maintain effective Logistic Matrix and algorithms to Maximize inventory service and minimize inventory level
- Analyze the Final Customer KPI Service Level in order to react in case of deviation Versus Target
- Support the Overstock and Obsolescence process to minimize unneeded Inventory
- Analyze the inventory level with focus to historical demand, lead time or safety stock level in order to take decisions on critical parts
- Provide managers with relevant and accurate reporting & analysis to help them make decisions
- Support on the set-up and execution of KPI analysis; deployment of corrective/improvement actions (system parameter changes, process reengineering, manual actions), follow-up;
- Monitor and maintain safety stock level & Economic Order Quantity/Value & Minimum Order quantity/Value
Profil:
- The ideal candidate has past experience using data science / analytical research in an industrial environment to advance product development or product insights
- Master’s Degree or higher in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or equivalent experience, engineering, Business or Supply Chain.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong experience with SQL and Tableau or other BI tools.
- Experience developing data visualizations to enable data exploration.
- Machine learning experience in Python and/or R
- Fluency in a scripting or computing language (e.g. Python, Scala, C++, Java, etc.)
- Experience with one or more cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure or other platforms)
- Practical knowledge applying analytical techniques such as time series regression, decision trees, segmentation, clustering, response modeling and factor analysis to real-world data.
- Natural curiosity and desire to learn
- Strong communicator with demonstrated experiencing translating analytic findings to business insights and influencing business stakeholders to drive action and improved business performance.
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills required.
- Ability to work independently, as well as with a team
- Computer skills: Excellent Office Package (advanced ACCESS and Excel)
- Self-motivated with high energy level and a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to high standards of excellence and integrity.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Knowledge of Data Warehouses (Cognos 10)
- Knowledge of programming languages VBA (Access & Excel), SQL (Access), R, Python
