Haver/Fanuc Operator– 1904087 – Quincy, FL

Where the Chemistry Happens…
  We are seeking a Haver/Fanuc Operator to work in the Dispersions & Pigments (ED) business unit as part of our Quincy, FL manufacturing site. 

  Safely and efficiently operate the South Fine Grind Automated Bagging System as described or assigned. Includes all processes and equipment between the associated gel production storage bins and the finished product storage area. Operate the South Fine Grind Automated Bagging System (Haver / Fanuc) within process order conditions, meeting production, quality and safety standards and expectations, and communicating well across shift operations and to management. 

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success

·  Supporting continuous improvement, learning new equipment and processes, training others and sharing operational knowledge is an essential objective of the position.  Startup and shutdown of bagging systems and will develop the ability to explain the operation of the SFG Automated Bagging System.  Adjust fill weights on plant to meet filling specifications and minimize over or under weight bags (lower reject rates), and while plant is online, recover form bagging system upsets or unplanned events.  Multi-task, prioritize assignments and job duties, and work in a fast-paced work environment with limited supervision. 
·  Perform change overs on a bagging system, clean out sampler as instructed to prevent out spec samples following a change over and follow approved change over procedures to minimize change over material loss (lower rates)  Remove and place finished product in the stack out area and maintain the samples for the QC Lab and paperwork associates with the packaging system in addition to ensuring all samples are appropriately labeled and submitted in a timely manner.
·  Follow all site policies and procedures and comply with all BASF corporate guidelines. Perform area inspections, correct problem areas as found, perform the Haver/Robot Daily Checklist and respond all alarms.  Follow approved shift change over procedures and check with the preceding shift personnel, order schedule board, daily log book, or supervisor in charge of the area to aid in the selection of product to be packaged.  Maintain: pallet rack with pallets, bag cart with appropriate new bags and program the inkjet printer and verify the print for correctness.  Safely operate, maintain, perform minor repairs and make proper adjustments on associated equipment in Haver work area.
·  Ability to use various tools, including: shovels, brooms, HMI system, forklift, carts, hi vacs, hand tools, and test meters to support Haver operation.  Ability to work with materials, including: plant machinery, vehicles, lubricants, solvents, replacement parts, packaging supplies, and hoses in support of Haver operation. Ability to work rotating shifts (day, evening & midnight shifts, Monday – Sunday: 4 shift rotation).  Utilizing SAP, AE software and ability to use a process computer.  Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions in addition to the ability to read, write and perform accurate arithmetic calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
·  Perform specified lubrications and troubleshooting related to: stacking pattern issues, system crash management, bag issues, screening issues and housekeeping issues.  Collect samples, mark pallets with lot number and transports sample packaged to the laboratory and adjust screens.
·  Must work for continuous improvement, personal learning of new equipment and processes, training others and sharing operational knowledge is essential to the job.  Must be able to be complete yellow belts projects, support 6S activities, and implement any other lean initiatives as assigned by management.  Must successfully complete all requirements of the Haver Operator qualification process - includes classroom training, field training, as well as performing satisfactorily on all assessment tools.  Must be able to complete ESLO’s (equipment specific lock outs) as needed or assigned by management and physically fit to lift 50 pounds and able to work in high or elevated areas.  Manage production plan for Haver in response to equipment issues or Supervisor instruction. Must be able to manage SFG product bins and ware house inventory and work in hot and/or cold environments.
