Job description

DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Vetting team builds and maintains software services, tools, and platforms for deploying, orchestrating, and monitoring tests for AWS server hardware. Our software ensures that all AWS hardware meet AWS' quality bar and are operating as expected in our data centers. We are responsible for vetting AWS hardware at a scale larger and more complex than anywhere else on the planet. Our service is core to how hardware is provisioned, managed and used by AWS.

A successful Technical Program Manager (TPM) will bring experience in distributed software design and can work within a fast moving, startup environment. We regularly collaborate with teams across AWS including EC2, S3, Hardware Engineering, Directed Work, and Data Center Operations, and have exposure to some of the brightest minds in the industry. TPMs are excellent communicators, enjoy tackling difficult technical challenges, are detail-oriented, have excellent problem solving and project management skills, and deep experience with software program management across multiple teams.

As a TPM in Vetting, you will be responsible for identifying the stakeholders, working with leadership to develop a vision, and developing and maintaining the roadmap. TPMs handle complex inter-team dependencies, program coordination, and bridge the gaps in technical management. The work you do has high exposure within Amazon since Vetting's services support the entire AWS fleet (internal Amazon and the AWS public cloud).
