DESCRIPTION

AWS Data Center Global Services is searching for an experienced Electrical CAD Designer to join our Team. This position will provide support to the Central Engineering Team through preparation of computer generated electrical design drawings from blueprints, hand drawings and other archive types. Candidates should be well versed in graphical communication for data center electrical engineering and construction drawings. The design documents will incorporate elements of high, medium and low voltage transmission fundamentals, industrial electrical distribution, wire types and sizes, conduit types & configurations for riser and underground applications, as well as fiber optic and copper data/voice media types. Candidates should have experience producing and maintaining permit and construction Electrical Engineering drawing sets for large facilities (Data Centers, Factories, Hospitals, etc.).

Major Responsibilities

· Establish and update electrical drawings, BIM models, standard blocks, symbols & project templates
· Assist the data center design engineering team with data center construction & as-built documentation
· Developing/red-lining schematics and new plan set documentation for all Electrical systems
· Updating and modifying existing models and drawing sets as required
· Managing the creation, issuing and revisions of drawings & models
· Coordination of MEP services with all other disciplines to develop clash resolved models and export coordinated drawing sets from same.
· Create and release data center electrical designs and collaboration in a fast paced environment to scheduled targets.
· Work with consultants, vendors and suppliers
· Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations
· Work as part of an internal MEP design team ·
· Provide coordination support for information requests during construction phases.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 5 + years BIM/CAD experience in the area of Electrical Building Design & services
· 5+ years experience using Revit to design and coordinate large electrical projects
· 5+ years of building engineering and construction technology
· 5+ years in developing Single Line schematics and layout drawings and understanding the relationship between both.
· Experience taking drawings from conceptual design through construction documents.
