We are looking for an Global Mid Corporate Liability Underwriting Manager (m/f/d), based in Munich 

  

Your Team  

 

Our team is accountable for the safety and sustainability of the mid corporate liability portfolio. We achieve this through supporting local underwriting leaders to steer their portfolio, the provision of strategic tools and directions, and an appropriate empowerment framework. 

 

The Impact You Will Have 

Join our global chief underwriting office as a Mid Corporate Liability Underwriting Manager, pivotal to Allianz Commercial's success. Manage one of our largest portfolios, driving technical excellence, growth, and profitability alignment. Utilize strong communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills to develop underwriting standards and provide agile technical training. Your role directly impacts our underwriting community's capabilities and our competitive edge, ensuring continued value delivery to clients and stakeholders. 

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:  

 

·  Support OEs in achieving safe growth and realizing commercial liability plans, covering central and local aspirations. 
·  Drive underwriting consistency through developing fit-for-purpose frameworks, socializing best practices, and establishing expertise centers. 
·  Provide safe empowerment and aid in talent acquisition by understanding local dynamics, supporting local leaders, and offering relevant technical training. 
·  Advance technical excellence across all OEs, focusing on pricing sophistication, loss control strategy, and local steering capability. 
·  Assist in the technical delivery of the Business Master Platform. 
·  Collaborate with the team to develop forward-looking portfolio management tools, including accumulation management, safe capacity deployment, facultative reinsurance, and addressing emerging risks/opportunities. 

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role  

 

·  Expert understanding of commercial liability business, preferably across multiple countries and jurisdictions. 
·  Completion of a professional insurance qualification is required for education. 
·  Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively and motivate underwriting teams, despite lacking direct people management responsibilities. 
·  Proficiency in analyzing complex data from various sources to inform underwriting strategy and proactively identify and resolve potential issues. 
·  Fluency in English is essential.
