Reporting to the Business Integration Manager and task managed by the Operations Support Leader and Business Unit EHS Controller. The Operations Support & EHS Intern will primarily support the business in the fulfilment of all hands-on support for the Business Unit EHS Controller & Operations Support. EHS duties include for example: risk assessment; accident investigation; management monitoring; identification and implementation of EHS improvement actions, and Ops Support duties include cost saving & improvement projects including Involvement Scheme.

You will report directly to the Business Unit EHS Controller and the Operations Support Leader providing knowledge and guidance on the process of transforming the specific area value stream. You will provide data, information and reports as required to the Business Unit EHS Controller & Operations Support Leader.

It is recognised that successful candidates may have differing levels of knowledge of the more technical aspects of Project Management.  As such they will be supported with a development programme suitable to their requirements.  This should provide assistance to enable individuals to reach a position where they have the opportunity to operate fully in the role.

These opportunities are open to individuals, who, as part of their career plan are looking to further develop their knowledge and ability to apply improvement tools and techniques within the value stream.

Tasks:

During this internship, the activities you may undertake will include;

·  Provide support in establishing the vision and business route map aligned to Operations Support & EHS function to deliver a sustainable performance improvement throughout the business unit.
·  Guide and coach teams in the delivery of a robust project implementation within their business unit and work streams.
·  Act on behalf of the Business Unit EHS Controller to support, facilitate and carry out activity to secure the rigorous implementation of Airbus EHS policy and procedures including, in particular, but not limited to, risk assessment with clear improvement recommendations.
·  Accountable for the fulfilment of the Project implementation & vision for the business area, in order to achieve the departments planned savings (UCoP/UCoS /EBIT/Cash).
·  Monitor and track the progress of local EHS improvement actions using the applicable Airbus action tracking system.
·  Produce the detailed “Route Map” to monitor project progress, and require to present risks / opportunities key stakeholders at various project review forums (e.g. CIM / Site PIM Review).
·  Cooperate with and seek direction and advice from the EHS Controller on matters of EHS strategy, policy, process and method, as necessary.
·  Be part of a multi-functional team responsible for EHS adherence and reporting
·  Drive team performance daily to achieve planned targets.
·  Install clear governance and structure to all objectives.

Our Internships are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

·  Relevant Business Management Qualification.
·  IOSH Certificate or equivalent.
·  Risk Assessment course.
·  Accident investigation course.
·  Auditing.
·  Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.).
·  A good communicator
·  Team Player
·  Innovation and good problem solving
