adidas Originals Flagship Store Introduction:
The new Originals flagship stores bring the brand and retail experience much closer together, creating true beacons for the beloved trefoil. The flagship stores have a high degree of local relevance and take their inspiration from the neighbourhood, which is the beating heart of Originals and the source for the world’s originality.
Originals was the first brand to bring the style and spirit of sport to the streets. It was the first to bridge the divides between courts and streets, between tribes and between cultures. Its past is huge. Its achievements are amazing. And a whole generation of global youth has been included along the way.
The flagship stores re-enforce the connection to the local streetwear audience and trend setters. They re-enforce Originals as the pioneering steertwear brand.
The best of the best of Originals will be showcased through the flagship stores, including the most exciting collaborations, the latest sneaker highlights and many limited editions. The store experience will be elevated through events, strong and bold brand activations, artist cooperations, and experimental zones.
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
The Retail Activation Expert position is a new and unique role created specifically for the adidas Originals flagship store concept.
The flagship stores have a high degree of local relevance and take their inspiration from the neighbourhood, which is the beating heart of Originals and the source for the world’s originality. The store experience will be elevated through events, strong and bold brand activations, artist cooperation’s, and experimental zones.
The Activation Expert will develop an in-store connection between the consumer retail experience and the brand of the beloved Trefoil. Through best in class retail activation & marketing initiatives this role will be pivotal in driving the vision & future of the adidas Originals brand.
Key Responsibilities:
· Ensure that the flagship store activation program comes to life each season in line with the product and brand stories – includes window execution, visual merchandising, in-store communication, events, etc.
· Createcontent relevant to theOriginals brand and the flagship store.
· Drive the elements of neighbourhood and community connectivity within the flagship store by networking with local shops and establishing relationships with key consumers andinfluencers.
· Organize and host eventsboth in- and out-of store.
· Be a knowledge expert on both the streetwear scene and the Originals brand (past, present and future), and develop methods to share this knowledge with the other flagship staff.
· Serve as acultralbeacon within the flagship store; this roll will not have a direct focus on selling product.
· Engage and inspire the flagship staff, consumers and community on the Originals brand.
Key Relationships:
· Global Brand Marketing to execute the seasonal flagship store activation program, and to post and maintain tumblr content.
· Local Brand and Retail Marketing for support in delivering the flagship store marketing and activation initiatives.
· Local Trend Marketing for connecting to the locally relevant streetwear and fashion influencers.
· Local Visual Merchandising for product layout and merchandising.
· Local marketing agencies and vendors for various events and activations.
· Brand (store) Manager and other flagship store staff.
· Consumers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
· Visual communicator and storyteller– an eye for capturing content in an Originals way.
· Good copywriter using the target consumer’s tone of voice.
· Social influencer and early adopter / native of social media.
· Part of the city´s streetwear culture.
· Connected with a large and relevant contact book ofinfluencers.
· Knowledge expert about the street wear scene, adidas Originals brand and the respective flagship city.
· Passion for the Originals brand and enthusiasm/energy for activation.
· Ideas focused, complemented with organizational and project management skills.
· Creative and innovative.
· Fluent in local language and proficient English.
· Knowledgeable in MS Office.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
· University degree in marketing and sales or equivalent professional experience.
· Minimum 3 years of retail and/or retail marketing experience.
· In-store retail experience is a plus.
· Experience of relevant PR / marketing / events is an advantage.
