Summary of Duties:

· Ensure facility is operating in compliance with all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations.
· Establish and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk, improve organizational safety and environmental performance and ensure compliance.
· Lead or direct safety committees and workstation hazard assessment teams.
· Develop and implement effective EHS processes and programs at the facility.
· Provide employee and contractor EHS training
· Facilitate and oversee incident investigations, root cause analyses and closure of corrective action plans
· Champion initiatives that identify and communicate facility risk exposure, prioritize risk reduction needs, and ensure closure of recommendations to reduce risk.
· Maintain and improve facility safety, workers compensation and environmental performance metrics and communication boards.
· Represent the company with local, state and federal agencies as required.
· Ensure the proper onsite management of solid, universal, and hazardous wastes and lead efforts to eliminate and/or reduce wastes through reusing, recycling and various other methods.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s (BA or BS.) degree or an equivalent degree from a college or technical school, plus 3 years of experience; or 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience with OSHA, EPA, Business Continuity Planning, “Green” Manufacturing, LEAN concepts, LEED Design, Six Sigma, TSCA, EPCRA, Workers Compensation
· 3 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Comprehensive knowledge of implementing employer policies, procedures and practices.
· Ability to analyze, diagnose and solve complex organizational challenges in an efficient and cost effective way.
· Ability to think in a holistic manner and to analyze the way a manufacturing system's constituent parts interrelate and work over time and within the context of the larger organization.
· Must possess and apply knowledge of Federal, State and/or Local Regulatory health, safety and environmental codes to create business value.
· Ability to build trust and credibility by demonstrating the following: accountability, dependability, ethics, integrity, humility, flexibility, adaptability and leadership.
