The Electrical Engineering and Vehicle Connectivity department delivers all electrical features on Volvo and Mack trucks in the North American market and exports models globally. The System Team focuses on securing that the quality of the developed and deployed solution meets the demands stated in requirements and acceptance criteria. The unique combination of analytical and technical skills together with understanding of the business requirements and domain knowledge allows the System Team to verify the quality of the electrical and electronic solutions used in our products.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Engineering Graduate Program is a global, one year program for new graduates who are passionate about engineering and have an ambition for continuous improvement. This unique opportunity offers a combination of on-the-job learning, intensive training modules and project work. The program is offered in the United States, Sweden, France and India and will begin September 2020.

The successful candidate will receive a full-time position in our organization and the chance to impact live projects with exposure to the entire engineering lifecycle. From the start, this position will be given a challenging hands-on role, working in a diverse, global environment. The program training modules will include travel to Sweden, France, and India and are specifically designed as preparation for a career with Volvo.

There will be continuous learning provided throughout the program to include training courses, e-learnings, workshops, and specialist trainings that are applicable to the position. There will be opportunities to develop the individual's area of expertise and secure valuable professional qualifications. The assigned Manager will conduct frequent reviews as part of a structured development program. At the closing of the program, a concise assessment of performance and competence will be completed and used to develop a career path.

This position performs electrical verification of Volvo and Mack designs. New design projects are integrated in various simulated and physical build configurations for requirement testing. In this position, you will learn testing theory, testing design, and testing practices. Skills you will use and develop will include those used in creating simulation environments, automation of repetitive testing, configuration, and test reporting.

WHO ARE YOU?

Desired qualifications of the successful candidate include:

·  Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field required; Advanced degree preferred
·  Successful completion of degree in 2018, 2019 or not later than June 2020
·  Applicable internship or co-op experience strongly preferred
·  Fluent in English
·  Visa/OPT/CPT sponsorship is not offered for this program; therefore, eligible candidates must have valid US work authorization

Onsite interviews for shortlisted candidates will be scheduled during the week of November 11th in Greensboro, NC.
