Job description

Role and Responsibilities

Responsible for installation, operation, and maintenance of instruments and automation equipment, coordination of same with various contractors, and provide detailed reporting of activities to management. Performs basic maintenance, calibration and testing of instrumentation and electrical equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Must be available for calling in on weekends and overtime.

 Perform preventative maintenance on all electrical and instrumentation equipment

 Calibrate, test, inspect, operate, troubleshoot and maintain electronic devices (PLCs, transmitters, etc.)

 Perform and schedule routine maintenance, preventative maintenance and major equipment repairs

 Maintain an effective Preventative Maintenance program for instrumentation and electrical equipment

 Installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment as needed

 Coordination of projects with management, contractors, and employees.

 Train team members and operators on operation of equipment

 Attend required safety meetings, hold tailgate safety meeting and write JSAs  Record project activities and equipment serial numbers and report to management

 Other duties as assigned

Ideal candidate profile

Qualifications :


 Must be willing to work on high (480)and low voltage equipment safely

 Must have general knowledge of National Electric Code and NFPA 70E

 Available for call outs, emergencies or shutdowns

 Experience reading results from electrical measurement instruments

 Motivated self-starter capable performing with minimal supervision

 Good communication skills both verbal and written

 5 years + of electrical and automation experience

Safety Concern:

 Must be able to work in- and out-of-doors in extreme weather conditions

 Work may be done on high (480)and low voltage equipment

 Must be knowledgeable of electronic safety codes

 Must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

 Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus  Must be comfortable in various work settings including office, field, plant, and operating facilities

 Indoor/Outdoor environments

 Computer work is required

Education and Certification Requirements

 High School Diploma

 Technical School Training

 5 years minimum experience preferred
