Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Technician

Location: Kilkenny (travel to site required)

Duration: Permanent

Overview of the role:

The Technician is responsible for responding to the day to day electrical and control service and maintenance issues that occur on various sites, carrying out planned and preventative maintenance on equipment, and to provide support to the other members of the Service team and the wider Veolia business

Day to day of the role:

·
Follow all Veolia QHSE procedures

·
Ensure paperwork is in place for each task, e.g. permits, Method statements, Risk assessments, etc.

·
Complete maintenance tasks as required

·
Actively communicate with the site and office in relation to job status and requirements

·
Provide support for both one off and continuous site projects, while interacting with contractors throughout the project

·
Contribute to the company goals and objectives by completing work efficiently

·
Provide support to the maintenance team and assist in the completion of two-man tasks where necessary

·
Provide support to the client to ensure the client needs are being met

·
Complete and close off helpdesk tasks and maintenance tasks where required

·
Provide support to the maintenance supervisor at all times, and be the point of contact when same is not available

·
Promote a positive attitude to safety

·
Organise and prioritize service work

·
Record and act on customer equipment failure reports

·
Maximize customer chargeable revenue

·
Manage subcontractors as required

Required skills for this role:

·
Electrical trade qualification is essential

·
Knowledge of utilities and water treatment and waste water treatment plant maintenance

·
Effective communication skills

·
A safety driven approach

·
Knowledge of health and safety legislation

·
In depth Mechanical knowledge

·
Ability to multitask between different tasks/sub-contractors over a prolonged time frame

·
Understanding of controls and automation systems is desirable
