ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Technical Project Leader (TPL) is an R&D role for delivering technical aspects of innovation/project for Hair SEAA. TPL is responsible for project leadership of technical aspect of assigned project – single point accountability for technical delivery and responsible for communication with stakeholder on all technical matters. Accountable for excellence in Project Management including the project timeline. Capable in Project and Stakeholder Management – able to manage local or regional project with medium – high complexity and/or virtual relationships effectively.

JOB SUMMARY:

o Lead the OTIF delivery of all technical tasks/R&D relevant elements of regional innovation/project by leading across R&D workstreams (formulation, processing, packaging, claims, CTI)

o Provide input for the development, together with local/global marketing, of key initiatives to be landed in the region

o Support technical scoping as well as plan, agree, monitor and review the technical workplan and deliverables of individuals working on technical project tasks

o Manage risk (lead technical risk assessment in project team and monitor implementation of identified risk mitigation)

o First point of contact for technical queries/issues raised in project team or representing technical team in core project team. Escalate any technical issues to R&D manager when required.

o Drive delivery of the Blue Funnel and 5S agenda pertaining, but not limited to smart product platforms, bringing forth new ideas based on local benchmarking and global funnel

o Partner with other functions to identify value improvement projects, develop and implement strategy, and assist in setting strategic technical direction

o Contribute to a strong saving strategy for the current year as well as 2-3 years pipeline

o Drive roadmap on Compliance to meet all live internal and external policies/regulations

o Evaluate and propose to the R&D manager the size and type of resource and budget required to deliver the technical elements of the project

o Manage stakeholders and keeping them informed on technical delivery

KEY INTERFACES:

Local, Regional and Global R&D; Procurement, Supply Chain (factory, planning, QA), respective marketing functions, regulatory function

REQUIREMENTS:

o A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline required. M.S. or Ph.D. preferred and at least 5 years working experience in related field

o Proven experience in R&D with extensive knowledge in formulation development, packaging development, and process development

o Have a detailed knowledge and understanding of the roles of R&D functions like CTI, Processing, Packaging, and Global capability functions like Regulatory, SEAC etc.

o Have a good understanding of the role of CCBTs, Marketing, CMI and SC teams and other global and regional partners

o Have a working knowledge of IPM tools, Gatekeeping & Project Management requisites and Risk Management tools

o Autonomous in decision making process on various task/projects being handled from time to time

o Excellent awareness of data-management and corresponding software

o Very good communication skills

o Must show ability to work in a multi-functional, multi-cultural environment

o Actively contribute to multiple projects, prioritizing activities to meet critical business timings

o Good English communication skills (both spoken and written) are mandatory

o Excellent project management skill
