FORMULATION TECHNOLOGIST - Dressings EU

Full-time: 100%
Travel: 5%
Location: Vlaardingen (from mid 2019 the role will move to Wageningen)

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

We support leading Dressings brands (Hellmann's, Calvé, Amora, Maille and others) by delivering innovation, renovation and continuous improvement projects, including supply chain optimization and cost savings initiatives. The team is organized in three capabilities: formulation, processing and project management. The main purpose of this job is to support product formulations across all Dressings product groups and technologies to meet consumer needs and business goals.

JOB SUMMARY
· Develop product formulations according to the business brief (use of Food Attribute Language when needed), processability and safety requirements
· Perform and lead all required product development activities on kitchen and laboratory level
· Implement and optimize standard technical processes in the kitchen
· Participate in pilot plant trials
· Provide formulation related technical input to project scoping
· Carry out work for support of product claims and demos, risk management, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines
· To support complexity reduction in ingredients, recipes and processes
· To support cost saving initiatives
· Perform product and ingredient physical-chemical analyses
· In silico first approach (start with computer and later go to the kitchen) using available tools and predictive models
· Organize product tasting sessions

KEY REQUIREMENTS
· Intermediate or higher professional education in Food Science /Technology / Processing, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology or related areas. For example a Bachelors degree in these fields of study.
· Formulation experience (preferably)
· Interested in food culture and cooking
· Independent
· Pro-active mind-set
· Good organization & Communication skills
