Job Description

The UI Artist is responsible for ensuring the design and graphic production of the menus and user interfaces of video games.  His/her supervisor follows up his/her work, so it can be easily integrated in the game and comply with the artistic direction and technical constraints.

Responsibility

·  Adaptable to a variety of engines and art styles.
·  Work with UX designer ; produce icons, menus, GUI ; research and exporation.
·  Cooperate with game designer, programmer, and lead artist to assist with development.
·  Contribute to defining guidelines, and work with lead artist to ensure cohesion and quality standards.
·  Maintain effective communication with the Art Lead and other team members.
·  QA and bug fixing.
·  Keen to improve and grow within a highly dynamic and creative Art Team.

 

Qualifications

·  At least 3 years working experience in UI art of video game industry.
·  Strong Graphic Design/Art skills, good knowledge and practical operation in Illustrator and flash.
·  Be good at different art style (Realistic, cartoon and stylized art style), and easily adaptable.

·         Integration experience

o    Being able to make binding in Phoenix (U3D or other UI integration in engine).

§  Require a bit of programming mindset (algorithm, logical operation) but doesn’t need any programming language knowledge. (Flash integrator or web designer could be good candidate on this)

o    Texture constraints Knowledge.

§  Compression

§  Power of two size constraint

·         Motion design Notions (a lot of UI is animated)

·         UX Basics

·  Good communication skills
·  Has great passion for creating and playing games and be interested with the platform.

Plus

·  Experienced with using 3D software (eg. 3dmax) is preferred.
·  English skills.
