Ubisoft Film and Television is looking to add to its legal team an attorney with film and/or television expertise to focus on negotiating, drafting, and closing a variety of agreements for its development and production team.  The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working at a film and/or television production company, a major film and/or television studio or network, and/or an entertainment law firm negotiating and drafting agreements in connection with the development and production of film and TV projects, negotiating and drafting rights and IP license agreements, and production legal experience.  This role will act as legal affairs counsel, is based in Los Angeles, and reports to Ubisoft’s Senior Counsel, Business & Legal Affairs.    

 

 

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

 

 

·  Responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating agreements for the development, production, and distribution of UFT’s film and television projects
·  Assist in establishing policies and practices, developing and implementing legal guidelines
·  Work closely with and provide strategic and practical advice to a variety of Ubisoft’s business teams, both within UFT and across Ubisoft globally
·  Advise on a wide range of legal issues, with a focus on media/content rights and intellectual property
·  Remain current on relevant industry standards, laws, and regulations
·  Collaborate with other legal team members, and cross functional stakeholders, to support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes

 

 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

 

 

·  JD degree from an accredited law school, and a member of the California State Bar.
·  4+ years of total legal experience
·  3+ years of relevant experience, either in-house and/or at a law firm, with a focus on media and intellectual property laws
·  Experience working on multiple different projects simultaneously
·  Experience building consensus across cross-functional stakeholders
·  Experience providing in-house support and managing outside counsel
·  Comfortable and adept at balancing legal risk and thinking creatively to affect business needs
·  Familiarity with guild rules and production legal experience is preferred
·  Team oriented with excellent judgment and a sense of humor
