Job Description

·  Mainly in charge of the Chemical cargoes
·  Always keep in mind that Safety is the main concern, in all circumstances
·  Always ensure that internal procedures (Group, Department, including Vetting ones) are fully applied
·  Reporting to the Operational Hierarchy (H+1) of : all accidents, incidents, Safety or Security concerns, and any questions in case of doubt.
·  Plan voyages of the time charter and spot vessels in association with the internal customers (Trading, Refining, MS, E&P etc) to meet their needs, always in full compliance with governing contracts (Charter Parties, Voyage Instructions etc), existing laws, regulations, recommendations etc
·  Optimize the finanical results of each voyage
·  Manage the operations ; instructing vessels via brokers, agents, contractors etc on a daily basis
·  Interface with ship owners, brokers, agencies and port authorities to ensure an efficient voyage always in accordance with the Charter Party and capabilities of the ship (consumption, time, etc)
·  Daily monitoring of vessels in operations (loading, discharging, STS, at sea etc)
·  In charge of invoicing checks, payments process and follow-up
·  Evaluate/estimate all the costs derived from a transaction and communicate all operational data having a financial impact on the shipping results into the Medissys Gestion database on a timely basis (freight, demurrage, deviation, detention, shifting, bunkers, etc)
·  Estimate potential claims in/out (according to the terms of each contract), verify and update financial provisions in the Medissys Gestion database
·  Updating of dedicated databases (mainly Medissys Gestion) and information
·  Handle non-demurrage related shipping claims and resolve shipping disputes With regards to Time-Chartered assets, to monitor closely the performance of the asset to ensure compliance to the associated Time-Charterparty.

Candidate profile

·  Fluency in English, fluency in French will be an advantage
·  2 to 3 years shipping experience ; mainly in Chemical cargoes handling
·  Proactive resolution minded, with spirit of initiative and rigor
·  Ability to display team Spirit
·  High availability on 24 x 7
·  Ability to prioritize, multitask and has initiative
