JOB SUMMARY

 

 

 

To provide the Industrial Engineering Manager the timely data and some of the measurements necessary to maintain engineered standards in the distribution center.  Current data to develop rates is critical to the support of standards in an incentive based production system.  Without current standards and supporting data, the credibility and validity of the incentive system cannot be maintained.  This position will supplement the Sr. Industrial Engineer in providing some baseline data.

 

 

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

25%

Conducts frequency studies to develop, update, or validate frequencies within standards.

 

15%

Assists the Sr. IE in the documenting and archiving of statistical data to support standards.

 

15%

Utilizes spreadsheets to sort and analyze statistical data from observations and work sampling.

 

15%

Assists the Sr. IE in the investigation of performance irregularities via the Productivity Accountability Tracking System (PATS) reports via observations or statistical analysis.

 

10%

Assists the Sr. IE in the development of Job Specifications by updating all occurrence and frequency data in the specs.

 

10%

Assists the Sr. IE in the statistical breakdown of all observed data.

 

 5%

Conducts occurrence studies to determine how often non-MOSTED (work measurement data application system) events occur which must be included in standards.

 

 5%

Conducts machine time and full rate cycle time checks utilizing a stopwatch.

 

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE

 

Minimum formal education, if any, required to perform this job:

 

Minimum High School Diploma or higher

 

Minimum job skills required to perform this job:

 

High aptitude in basic and statistical math

Good knowledge of spreadsheet software (Excel, Lotus 123, etc)

Superior analytical skills

Very organized & detail oriented

Good communication skills

Knowledge of distribution operations desired

 

Minimum experience required to perform this job.

 

1-2 years experience, preferably in a distribution environment
