Department function:

Responsible for the Process Engineering and Maintenance departments with the remit to improve manufacturing processes and maintain/improve the manufacturing assets and facilities of the business. The Process Engineering team provides engineering support to the Design and , Manufacturing teams at the site as well as technical and project management support for Capex projects undertaken at the site. The Maintenance team maximizes asset availability and reliability via preventive and corrective maintenance activities, positively impacting the profitability of the site.

Main function of job:

To manage the core functions within the above departments to maximize the availability, capability, and efficiency of the manufacturing assets of the Channelview site.
To lead, develop and motivate a multi-skilled team that effectively supports the Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) objectives of the site. An additional requirement for the job holder is effective collaboration with the global subject matter experts (SMEs) to maximum alignment of processes, standards and equipment.

Position Duties:
¡  Implement the strategy for manufacturing asset development, taking into consideration operating cost, maintenance cost, asset availability, and market trends
¡  Coach and develop engineers, to allow them to operate independently within the manufacturing environment; ensuring the team has appropriate training and experience to perform their roles effectively
¡  Responsible for department measures and success of the team
¡  Organize and prioritize engineering and maintenance workload in line with project delivery dates
¡  Promote and support the use of lean-six sigma and/or simplified DMAIC tools and techniques to drive continuous improvement across the business
¡  Ensure machines, processes and systems are developed in line with global TechnipFMC standards and international QHSE standards
¡  Establish a process and culture to ensure root cause / engineered solutions are implemented to eliminate potential future failures
¡  Ensure comprehensive and accurate plans are developed and executed for CAPEX improvement projects
¡  Ensure a robust link between product design and asset capability is maintained
¡  Collaborate with global umbilical teams to identify and implement best practices for process engineering and equipment/facility maintenance
¡  Provide technical leadership in support of NCR investigations, as required
¡  Contribute to tender risk reviews, project handovers and product design reviews
¡  Provide support to internal / external clients within tendering, projects management, and other entities within TechnipFMC to ensure that all umbilical tenders can be manufactured using existing equipment and processes or a cost and lead time to allow enhancements to manufacturing process to be developed, validated, commissioned and integrated into regular operations
¡  Develop and execute strategic plan for the maintenance team that will drive substantial and sustained improvement in OEET for major equipment at the site
¡  Provide operational engineering in support of Capex projects including; review and interpretation of project requirements; preparation/co-ordination of project documentation (specifications, drawings, design calculations, design reports, procedures, work packages); obtainment of relevant approval as required, this may include design approval, where appropriate, from end users / functional departments

Position Requirements:
¡  Degree qualified, in a relevant discipline
¡  Demonstrable hands on process engineering experience, ideally 3 years + in heavy industrial environment
¡  Experience of computerized systems, including mathematical/spreadsheet software is necessary (CAD, Inventor, MS Word & Excel)
¡  Interpersonal Skills with ability to build and maintain relationships with other departments within TU and across the group
¡  Lean/Six Sigma Improvement methodology experience
¡  Project planning methodology
¡  Experience of Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems
