Senior 3D model designer for concrete and steel
Job purpose and organizational context:
Job purpose:
Part of Civil Works Department in Rome, the Candidate will work on Projects under the Civil Lead Engineer responsibility and will perform 3D design for concrete and steel structures, in an international context, for Oil and Gas Projects.
Reporting lines and interactions:
Hierarchically reports to: Civil and Structural Engineering Section Head/Area Manager
Operationally reports to: Civil Lead Engineer
Directly supervises (operationally): Civil technical specialists
Functionally supervises : N/A.
Key interactions (internally, externally):
Internally: Site, civil works and other disciplines' technical specialists and engineers, other operating centers
Externally: Clients/Partners (technical specialists), Engineering Subcontractors, Construction Subcontractors
Profile:
Must have:
· More than 5 years' experience in 2D design for concrete and steel structures for Oil and Gas facilities (with Autocad and/or Microstation).
· 3 years' experience in concrete and steel structures 3D modeling using Tekla.
· Capability to perform its work on time with the required quality level.
· Capability to work in team, to ensure interface communication with other disciplines and to bring technical solutions to the project.
· Capabilities in relationship and technical open mind.
· Fluent in English.
· Capability to work in international context.
· Open to missions in engineering operating centers and/or construction sites.
Nice to have:
· Fluent in Italian.
· Knowledge of other 3D modeling software (SP3D, PDMS).
Main accountabilities
· Carry out and coordinate the design of Plant structures and foundations, relevant 3D modeling with Tekla, extraction of 2D drawings and MTOs.
· Ensure timely reporting on engineering activities to the Civil Lead Engineer.
· Ensure proper communication within civil team and with other engineering disciplines (e.g. Piping, Stress, Electric, Instrumentation, etc.) for management of interfaces.
· Review and apply Project specifications and standards.
· Provide value engineering on specifications and standards provided by Clients.
· Meets quality and HSE objectives of the project
· Prepare transfer dossiers to other operating centers/Subcontractors for detail engineering.
· Monitor design progress and ensure timely and qualitative preparation of project deliverables.
· Assure that comments by other disciplines are incorporated in the design .
· Transmit comments to other disciplines.
