What will you be doing?

In the context of the Group’s policy and processes, is responsible for all the construction operational part (logistics, local purchases, GC coordination and monitoring, mechanical and electrical assembly, handover to commissioning), in line with the company’s strategy, commitments and objectives.

 

In the context of his/her duties, reports operationally and hierarchically to the Site Management Team Manager of the business and acts in:

 

Promoting our EHS values and implementing our EHS plans at all sites of his area

 

Organizing and kicking off all sites activities of his area

 

Supporting functionally the Site Managers working on his area

 

Following up and supporting sites, travelling to the sites of his area

 

Reviewing and collaborating in updating the site management documentation

 

Supporting the Bid Manager at bid stage for subcontractors’ qualification and selection, definition of site staff needs, construction sequence and planning elaboration with scheduler

 

Supporting selection and staffing process for external site managers

 

Site managing his own project, on his area

 

Site managers are the eyes of the project managers on site and are Company’s representative in front of the site stakeholders. Site Manager coordinator supports them by bringing his knowledge of his area’s laws & regulations, supported by local HSE representative.

Main Accountabilities:

Implements, at Site, in connection with the Project Manager, the project strategies defined by the Project Manager and the Site Management Team Manager

 

Monitor the duly application of the project strategies by the Site manager

 

Ensures following accountabilities by the Site Managers appointed on his area, and by him for his own Site:

 

- Responsible for the whole site, and reports operationally to the Project Manager

 

- Guarantees the application at Site and by all stakeholders of QHSE rules and specific QHSE project Plan.

 

- Before works start, gets things ready by taking on staff, and preparing the site, carefully planning the work to be done and installing temporary offices for site staff

 

- Oversees all site operations on a day-to-day basis, and ensure that work is done safely, on time and within budget and to the right quality standards. Leads, coordinates and federates his/her team around the business strategy

- Assures the performing of a quantitative / integrity check of the goods arrived at site: in case of vendor’s issues, inform SQE issuing a w/f Vendor’s NCR; In case during the installation any Vendor’s NCR (related to the manufacturing) is detected, inform SQE issuing a w/f Vendor’s NCR

- In agreement with his Project Manager, manages, anticipates and influences relationships with external stakeholders (client, consulting engineer, partners and subcontractors) in his/her area

- Defines his/her needs and manages relationships with the internal stakeholders of the area for which he/she is responsible. Alerts his/her hierarchical superiors where necessary

- In addition to his/her responsibilities in terms of quality, timing and technical performance for the area the project manager has given him/her, contributes to keeping the budgetary targets for the site by keeping the project manager informed of project control information and they verify consistency with the objectives of the project.

- Applies and implements contract management in his/her area.

 

- Is responsible for the concretization of opportunities identified on his/her perimeter.

 

- Identifies, analyses and manages risks in the area for which he/she is responsible.

 

- Leads project control for his/her area (progress measurement, change management, event log, non-conformities, gap measurement…).

 

- Consolidates reports on his/her scope of responsibility

 

 

- Ensures Progress Sheet are completed on issues identified during installation and processed by the local REX committee.

 

- While work is taking place, monitors progress, walks the site monitoring closely the contractor's progresses, oversee delivery of materials and carry out safety checks and sort out any problems which could hold up work as they arise.

- keeps in close contact with members of their site team at all times, and liaise with contractors, architects, engineers, surveyors and planners.

- ensures that work complies with building regulations and health and safety legislation as well as other legal requirements.

- keeps the client updated regularly on progress being the face of the Project manager on site in front of the customer

- acts as the first point of contact for members of the public and sub-contractors monitoring them and ensuring that they work effectively meeting the schedule and quality standards

- responsible for making sure that the deadline for completing work is met

- shares some of the responsibility if someone on the site has an accident

- needs to be able to plan work well, and to be well-organized, and prepared for responsibility and decision making.

- needs to be highly numerate with good IT skills, as well as good at solving problems.

- has to be able to set site building and health and safety regulations, as well as other legislation, in coordination and with support with EHS

- Strong leadership skills, since he has to be able to communicate with, manage and motivate people at all levels, from staff to sub-contractors.
