We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC Qatar for:

HEAD I&C (LNG)

This position is a unique opportunity to perform Instrument & Control Engineering activities for North Field Expansion (NFE) Onshore Project, ensuring technical requirements fully comply with project deliverables and standardized processes and are delivered to the highest standards. Steward Instruments & Controls engineering activities to ensure quality and timely delivery of Instruments & Controls engineering scope.

Your main duties will be:

• Ensure Instrument and Control (I&C) engineering activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, project specifications and approved variations if any.
• Lead work execution, ensuring technical alignment and compliance with Qatargas operational policies, standards of business conduct and project management system.
• Advise the engineering teams of external organisations, entities appointed representatives and resolve I&C issues to ensure engineering design addresses each companies' expectations and is consistent with Qatargas, QP and Project's objectives. Communicate with and recommend solutions to Project Management Team when necessary.
• Manage the Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) purchase order with the EPC Contractor and System Vendor in accordance with the roles and responsibilities given in the contract to ensure safe and seamless integration of the systems without any disturbance to the existing operating facilities.
• Prepare plans and work schedules that ensure effective completion of project activities and provide data (narrative, charts, graphs), change management recommendations and recovery plans to address any schedule delays for monthly progress and stewardship reporting.
• Develop, update and amend project philosophies, policies and procedures ensuring that all references to Instrument & Controls Engineering are current and relevant.
• Advise and supply guidance to EPC Contractor ensuring their capability in providing all contract documents, progress and reporting measures and recommend additional technical support to address gaps.
• Evaluate and analyse complex tasks and assignments, providing I&C expertise to other disciplines as necessary, in support of completing activities within schedule and making appropriate recommendations to management on I&C issues.
• Plan and schedule the I&C engineering deliverables to enable efficient project execution.
• Evaluate safety analysis studies and provide the required input to support project management in key decision making. Participate in sharing lessons learned from previous projects, together with capturing current lessons learned to support future project and review teams


Ideally, you should have Bachelor of Instrumentation Engineering.

You should have minimum of 20 years' experience working in Instrument and Controls, in a major LNG project environment within the oil and gas industry and having a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction and operations.

Previous knowledge of Brownfield engineering and execution required. Requires demonstrated broad Instruments & Controls equipment and systems experience (DCS (Honeywell, Emerson, Snyder), Smart JBs, Virtualization,) and familiarity with relevant manufacturing processes and relevant industry codes.

You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, an advance level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office. You will need excellent communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal English.
