Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Role: Strategic Marketing Manager

Technology Solutions is searching for a Strategic Marketing Manager whom will be responsible for developing a deep market understanding and providing insights into the company customers, market, and competitors at a global and regional level. The tole is responsible for driving the strategic marketing planning process across 3 Technology Solutions business lines: Mining Solutions, Polymer Additives & Phosphorus Specialties. In this role, he/she will be working closely with the BU Marketing team to scout for new opportunities and ensure a sustainable competitive advantage for the GBU. 

In addition, he/she will assist Marketing Managers of each business line in existing product lines and new product offerings, create and execute on cross-functional plans to capitalize on new business opportunities, stage-gate process of idea qualification, and support project commercialization. Strategic Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing consolidated process for GBU, monitoring long term project and portfolio management. 

The position reports to the VP of Strategy and the position is located Princeton, NJ

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·   Work closely with the Strategy VP and BU marketing teams to develop and execute the strategic imperatives to support the business growth 
·  Work with the Strategy VP and the BU Marketing teams to build and develop the annual Business Strategic Review (BSR)
·  Monitor industry statistics and follow trends in literature and on-line data sources
·  Perform data analysis and synthesis on various marketing and sales datasets to identify trend and competitive threats 
·  Support development of long term projects and portfolio assessment and actively challenge exiting processes to drive simplification and improvement
·  Work cross-functionally to assist Marketing Manager of each Business Lines in new product industries, including existing product lines and potential new product offerings 
·  Create and execute on cross-functional plans to capitalize on new business opportunities (i.e., product launches) stage gate process of idea assessment/qualification, leading to support of project commercialization efforts
·  Competitive Intelligence: Develop a consolidated process for the GBU and conduct research (primary and secondary) analyses that will lead to market segmentations to support overall sales productivity 
·  Work cross-functionally with Marketing and sales team  to ensure timely, accurate and reliable analysis to determine opportunities that can uncover business insights and improve business results 
·  Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or closely related field (Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field will also be considered)
·  Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
·  Minimum 3-5 years of experience in marketing research or business analysis (in Specialty Chemical industry is preferred)
·  Experience in data visualization and business intelligence tools
·  Previous experience in interpreting marketing and sales data to drive actionable insights 
·  Excellent written and spoken English skills
·  Fully proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

·  Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to successfully interact with and influence other functions – Global Marketing, R&I, Application Technology, Product Management, Sales and Operations
·  Exceptional Communications skills – effectively, clearly and concisely conveys ideas, concepts and growth opportunities at all levels and functions – in written, verbal and presentation format
·  Ability to concurrently support and/or manage multiple and complex projects in a fast paced and innovative environment
