Job Overview and Responsibilities:

The objective of the annual environmental reporting campaign (SERF) is to collect environmental data (emissions to air/water, waste production, water use…) from all operational entities (+/- 180) of the Group (production plants, research & innovation centers…). These data are validated internally and externally, consolidated and used to compute environmental impact indicators. These indicators are analyzed to evaluate the performance progress of the SOLVAY Group and to compare them with the targets the Group has set.

The consolidated indicators are published in the Annual Integrated Report of the Group, and also used to feed questionnaires from rating companies (VIGEO, MSCI, Oekom, CDP Water…).

The trainee will work in the Environmental Team of the EMEA Zone (belonging to the worldwide HSE Organization) and will be coached by the Group Environmental Reporting Coordinator.

Mission:

·  Learning of the SERF Reporting Procedure
·  Learning of the HSE Reporting System (PURE) for SERF
·  Help other Zones with using PURE for SERF
·  Contribute to the validation of SERF reports by performing systematic checks across Zones
·  Data extractions from PURE database and convert exports to different output formats (using VBA tools) depending on the needs of the end-user
·  Contact sites to clarify/complete comments associated with data
·  Upload of historical corrections to the PURE database
·  Participate to the corporate audit & follow-up of corrections/questions from the auditors
·  Analyze indicator trends and contribute in the preparation of technical narratives
·  Build cartographies for substances, for waste and for water

Education and Experience:

·Bachelor or Master degree in Chemistry, preferentially with some knowledge in environment

·Good knowledge of French and English (the candidate must be able to write simple mails in English)

Skills:

·  Good IT skills (Excel, Pivot Tables …)
·  Good methodology
·  Accurate and result oriented
