Job Overview and Responsibilities:

The Role: Distribution Coordinator

The Distribution Coordinator is responsible for executing the logistics distribution processes as assigned to deliver safe, responsive, and reliable service at optimal cost. Drive continuous improvement and follow guidelines to recommend and initiate process improvements which improve overall service. Make effective use of systems automation. Effective coordination with all areas of the Supply Chain and internal/external customers. Monitor site metrics & 3rd party service providers as assigned to ensure ongoing compliance and process adherence. Drive alignment in the region of process and organization with global strategies / North America objectives and opportunities. Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory guidelines applicable to transportation, documentation, record keeping, training, etc.

Responsibilities: 

·  Build loads in SAP Logistics Execution
·  Transport scheduling
·  Perform local carrier management
·  Facilitate bulk and packaged orders through plant processes
·  Perform contract review
·  Manage shipping schedule data
·  Attend daily shipping meeting
·  Monitor carriers and communicate delays in a timely fashion
·  Manage costs and provide data as required to allow adherence to budget and the budgeting process
·  Perform additional duties as assigned within the North America Logistics Network
·  Perform demurrage management activities
·  Approve invoices relating to inbound demurrage, outbound demurrage, spotting and storage charges within the CASS system
·  Investigate, perform root cause analysis and lead effort to reduce demurrage
·  Railroad Administration
·  Customs / Duty and Compliance processes as relate to Site
·  Maintain all required department forms and operating supplies
·  Investigation and submission of CCIR responses within Solvay guidelines
·  Administrative duties as assigned (copy, fax, file documents) 
·  Perform duties related to management of toll and resale vendors as assigned
·  Proficient use of all required order fulfillment software
·  Special projects as assigned
·  3RD party warehouse responsibilities as assigned

Education and Experience:

·  Two year associates degree in a technical or business curriculum is preferred (Business, Supply Chain or any related field) OR 5+ years of experience in a logistics experience (in lieu of degree) 
·  3 years of experience in logistics & distribution process 
·  Knowledge of safety, health and environmental and other regulatory/compliance requirements appropriate to related functions
·  HAZMAT Certification or experience
·  DOT 

Skills:

·  Communication: Demonstrates maturity in dealing with conflict etc.; clear communication skills including listening, verbal and written.
·  Computer skills: Understand and use of required systems SAP to enable the logistics process. Proficient in pc applications
·  Building Teamwork : Demonstrates support of supply chain’s mission and North America objectives by maintaining favorable relationships with peers, internal/external customers
·  Customer focus: Demonstrate service oriented attitude under all situations; develop and maintain solid overall understanding of HR policies and programs
