Mission
Description of Business Line or Department
The Securities settlements department supports the PRM business line under Societe Generale International Limited, the settlement team covers all Prime Brokerage Activity on a global basis.
Summary of the key purposes of the role
· Pre-matching and fails management on a global basis, covering all Fixed Income and Equity product type
· Responsibility for managing, controlling, preparing and escalating risk within the scope of your position .
· Responsible for cash and stock break resolution within the strict deadlines of the department on a daily basis
Summary of responsabilities
· Pre-matching and fails management across all markets where SGIL are active, covering all Fixed Income and Equity producttypes
· Responsible for escalating all failing & unmatched trades on a daily basis to the various business lines, trading desks & to your direct Supervisor / Manager
· Responsible for collating fails reports to management, business lines and trading desks on a daily basis
· Flexible in working hours to cover various shifts, covering Europe through to North America
· Responsible for cash and stock break resolution within the strict deadlines of the department on a daily basis allocated to the settlements department by operations reconciliation department
· To generate and investigate all incoming , outgoing interest claims and market penalties in a timely manner
· Ensure all market penalties , buy-in notifications are acted upon in a timely manner, passing notification on to relevant counterparts , escalating to business line, trading desk and direct manager
· Responsible for monitoring and clearance of all trade related (Swift release) queues within SGNUK internal systems to ensure settlement in a timely manner
· To adhere to internal procedures relating to ‘Client Money' and ‘CASS' to comply with regulations
· Responsible for set up and maintenance of static data relating to all settlements
· Any ad-hoc tasks as determined by the section manager
· Responsibility for ensuring that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal Policies that relate to you, your business or other businesses for which you have any level of responsibility.It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with operational risk requirements (e.g. Golden rules, security policies and regulatory requirements).
· To follow settlement procedures and processesset by management at all times
· Observe proper standards of market conduct.Responsibility to ensure that you take reasonable steps to be fully aware of, understand and comply with all regulatory requirements from all regulatory bodies that are applicable to your business.
· Setting up and monitoring OPER/SEC skills matrix
· Ensuring procedures updated and Synapsys up to date
· Monthly/weekly KPI analysis and report creation
· Innovation – looking at some of process's with new approach
