Responsibilities

Description of the Business Line or Department

This internship position would be for 12 months, starting in December 2019, within the Cross Asset Development team which forms part of SG's Structuring and Product Solutions team, part of the bank's markets department.

This is an opportunity to work with seniors on structuring, distribution, tax and regulation issues relating to various financial products and wrappers. The team is focused on all structuring aspects involving, inter alia, regulatory, legal, fiscal, accounting and financial aspects of structuring innovative products.

Summary of the key purposes of the role

· 
Assist senior structurers in transaction management and internal control of various products

· 
Assist in assessing regulatory, fiscal and market environment, liaise with internal support functions

· 
Assist in the formalization of information and creation of knowledge data base

· 
Assist in the follow up of documentation and project launches

Summary of responsibilities

Note: many of the following responsibilities may transition from a role of assisting more experienced members of the team to a higher degree of autonomy and responsibility:

· 
Assist senior structurer in the review of term sheets for Sharia compliant products

· 
Assist senior structurer in summarising cashflows and bookings and liaising with middle and back office functions

· 
Assist senior structurer in running a Sharia screening process for stocks

· 
Assist senior structurer in answering day-to-day questions related to credit default swaps (CDS)

· 
Preparation of transaction records for internal audit purposes

· 
General assistance on product launches and transaction execution, including presentations

Delegated responsibilities

N/A – as this is an internship role, the candidate will be given the responsibility to carry out actions his/herself and delegation to others in the bank will be carried out with the agreement of the supervisor

Level of Autonomy and Authority

This is an internship role, so the starting point is that any decision must be run by a senior member of the team.

Profile Required
