Societe Generale Securities Australia is a full participant of the ASX24 and its businesses range from futures clearing to prime broking and clearing to equity and derivatives sales.
There are currently 35 members of staff in Sydney, representing 10 different nationalities, from different business lines and corporate functions. We are currently looking for a Financial Accountant (VIE) to join us. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in a growth phase and get hands-on experience within a fast-paced, results focused, global organisation. The successful candidate will be able to build close relationships with the teams onshore and within the organisation more broadly on a regional and global basis.
The Finance Division employs 2,000 employees worldwide. It plays a fundamental role in developing the company’s strategy and financial planning, managing cash flow and the company’s structural risks, producing financial statements and regulatory reports, digitizing finance processes and overseeing financial communications. It provides an objective, cross-business perspective to guide relevant decisions for management and the development of the company.
The Finance team in Australia is responsible for all Finance and Tax Compliance processes which include financial planning and reporting, Asset and Liability Management, regulatory and tax reporting and supervision of offshored processes.
The successful candidate will support the local Finance team in working with the company’s financial records to ensure that they are properly maintained and classified and that relevant reporting is performed in accordance with relevant accounting principles and applicable laws.
Your main responsibilities and missions will be :
Document the operating procedures of accounting & finance processes
Perform day-to-day book keeping and accounting services
Assist in tax and regulatory returns
Prepare customer recharge invoices and follow up the payment
Prepare month end schedules
Assist in month end processing
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Sydney is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months, with an option to renew for an additional year.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information, please see www.civiweb.com.
You are graduated with a Master degree from Engineering or Business School or University with a specialization in in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines
Ideally you have past experience within the finance team of a multinational organization, experience within an audit firm would be considered
Exposure to banking & finance industry is a plus
You have proven analytical and numerical skills
You are fluent in English
You are proficient in Microsoft Office application (Excel, powerpoint)
